How to use this funnel drop-off calculator

Use this tool when the problem is not “conversion is down” but “we do not know where the leak actually is.” It helps separate top-of-funnel weakness from onboarding weakness and monetization weakness.

What the stage breakdown tells you

Visitor → Trial

  • Poor: <2%
  • Average: 3%
  • Good: 5%
  • Excellent: 8%+

Trial → Activation

  • Poor: <20%
  • Average: 30%
  • Good: 40%
  • Excellent: 60%+

Activation → Paid

  • Poor: <50%
  • Average: 60%
  • Good: 70%
  • Excellent: 80%+

Where to Focus First

Use the revenue impact panel to decide which stage deserves attention first. In most cases:

  • Low visitor-to-trial rate: focus on positioning, offer clarity, CTA placement, and whether the traffic matches the promise of the page.
  • Low trial-to-activation rate: focus on onboarding, time-to-value, product friction, and whether the first-session experience earns the next step.
  • Low activation-to-paid rate: focus on pricing communication, proof of value, plan fit, and whether users reach enough value before the paywall matters.

What this tool does not tell you

It shows where the leak is concentrated, not why it exists. Once you identify the weak stage, the next job is diagnosing the underlying cause: weak messaging, poor-fit traffic, onboarding friction, pricing confusion, or product-value gaps.
